Overview
The AWS Professional Services (Pro Serve) team seeks an Engagement Manager (EM) to lead delivery of complex cloud solution projects. You will combine technical expertise with strong project leadership to drive AWS-based implementations, bridging business requirements with technical solutions, and ensuring alignment with customer outcomes. You will apply AWS frameworks such as Well-Architected and Cloud Adoption Framework, distill customer needs into technical requirements, decompose problems, and make trade-offs considering performance, scalability, security, and business impact.
You will validate technical solutions against business goals, identify when additional evaluation is needed, and manage technical risks. You are expected to maintain relevant AWS certifications, develop domain-specific expertise, and communicate technical concepts to technical and business audiences. As you progress, you will lead increasingly complex projects, shape cross-organizational technical strategies, and establish best practices in your domain, executing project plans, proactively managing risks, resolving issues, escalating when appropriate, and driving projects to successful completion while exceeding customer expectations.
The AWS Pro Serve organization is a global team that helps customers realize desired business outcomes when using AWS Cloud. We collaborate with customer teams and the AWS Partner Network (APN) to deliver enterprise cloud initiatives, offering guidance through a range of solutions, technologies, and industries.
This position requires that the candidate selected be a US Citizen and possess an active Top Secret security clearance.
Key responsibilities- Leading and managing complex cloud migration and implementation projects
- Leveraging knowledge of AWS services, architectures, and best practices to guide technical decisions and strategic planning
- Bridging business requirements with technical solutions, facilitating engineering discussions and ensuring alignment with customer outcomes
- Distilling customer needs into clear technical requirements and mapping them to business outcomes
- Decomposing complex technical problems into actionable, deliverable solutions
- Contributing to technical documentation and defining documentation standards

Basic Qualifications- 5+ years of delivering IT projects with external customers or equivalent experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering
- 3+ years of cloud computing experience
- Experience with Agile and project management tools (Jira, Rally, Version One, Taiga)
- Current US Citizen with an active Top Secret security clearance
- Project management certification (e.g., APM, CSM, PMI-ACP, PRINCE2)
- AWS certification
- Knowledge of public cloud value propositions and cloud engagement delivery (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS)
- Experience presenting to C-level executives and cross-functional teams
- Knowledge of government contracting laws, FAR/DFAR and related regulations
- Experience in project management or management consulting with multiple ongoing projects

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Compensation includes sign-on payments and RSUs. Final pay is determined by experience, qualifications, and location.
