The System Project Lead is a critical leadership role within the Information Technology Services Agency (ITSA), specifically overseeing a specialized team within the Network Systems Division. The Lead is responsible for the direct supervision of departmental staff and provides project management and technical oversight.
The System Project Lead will manage a team working across one or more of the following key technical areas:
Infrastructure:
Servers (Hyper-V, AD, SQL), Storage, and Backup systems. Networking:
Firewalls, Switches, Routers, VPN, and WAN security. Software/Cloud:
Google Workspace, Okta, and Endpoint management.
Personnel Leadership and Supervision
- Provide direct supervision of one Network Systems Services support.
- Conduct weekly touch base meetings and coordinate team time management to ensure incidents are resolved within set service level agreements (SLAs) and that project deadlines are met.
- Management of staffing and assignment of day-to-day operational tasks.
- Manage professional development and continual learning coursework for direct reports.
- Establish and facilitate interviews for new hires and facilitate promotional growth opportunities within the team.
- Lead project management efforts for system upgrades, deployments, and infrastructure improvements.
- Oversee Service Desk functionality, including incident reviews and reporting requirements for performance metrics.
- Oversee End to End functionality, ensuring end user issues are fully understood and fully resolved with clear communication back to the end user.
- Oversee Server functionality, monitor issues, and lead teams in conducting root cause analysis to prevent re-occurrences.
- Oversee Network functionality, monitor issues, and lead teams in conducting root cause analysis to prevent re-occurrences.
- Ensure the stable operation of in-house service desk, computer networks and server infrastructure.
- Communicate and coordinate cross functionally with key stakeholders in city departments and with ITSA management to ensure quality solutions are delivered by the team.
- Develop documentation on new and existing systems.
- Maintain documentation whenever changes or enhancements are made to existing systems and ensure adherence to divisional standards and procedures for requirements definition, test planning and system documentation.
- Develop and present executive level presentations on highly complex technology issues. Participate in evaluating solutions.
- Work with the ITSA team to determine the feasibility of integrating proposed solutions with existing technologies.
- Write information systems program management reports and provide professional program management presentations.
- Conduct periodic classes in the training and orientation of technical personnel.
- Act as a liaison with contractors, as needed, in managing the City's ITSA equipment and assets.
- Supervise department personnel, to include training, analyzing and resolving work problems or assisting in solving work problems.
- Participate in regular meetings with ITSA Managers and the Director (as needed).
- Manage service desk, server and network environments, including maintenance, patching, security, and administration of Active Directory and Hyper-V.
- Oversee network security solutions such as firewalls, VPNs (Cudalunch/Barracuda), and intrusion detection systems.
- Oversee server solutions such server builds, management, maintenance, patching, upgrades, and security.
- Support Google Workspace administration and public/private cloud systems.
- Oversee and administer ATT maintenance for eSIMs and SIMS.
