Incumbents in this position are responsible for the stability and security of both cloud and on-premise networks/systems, STL campus fiber network support for internal/external users, and STL internal WIFI network and all networked devices.
Responsible for STL Backup and Recovery as well as management of remote disaster recovery sites with the capability of running STL critical systems remotely in a virtual environment. Provides oversight for systems patch management and addressing critical system remediation. Monitors Security IDS systems as well as malware prevention systems and manages email protection systems. Monitors Security Awareness training and phishing testing campaigns targeted to internal users.
Main point of contact for TSA cybersecurity inspection and reporting process. Manages the Contracted CISO to manage STL security policies and procedures and reporting requirements. Manages STL firewall systems and maintains various VPN connections for individual users as well as IPSEC tunnel to offsite contract support as well as remote facility connectivity. Management through contract support of STL’s Security Access Control/, CCTV viewing and archiving systems, Campus Audio paging, digital directories, flight information systems, energy management reporting systems as well as connectivity to the contract managed Baggage control system.
Management of the systems also includes the various integrations between all the systems’ internal as well as external data sources and/or repositories. Provides coordination for tenant data distributions including pathway determinations as well as dark fiber allocation.
Stays abreast of emerging technologies and recommends strategies to ensure STL offers innovative solutions to our customers.
Essential Functions And Responsibilities- Manages the AIT staff of 17 employees and various contractors, supporting STL campus internal systems.
- Plans, organizes, and manages staff and overall operations to ensure the stable operation of the organization's IT infrastructure.
- Ensures the stable operation of the in-house computer network. This includes planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all network devices (PCs, laptops, tablets, printers, and other networked devices).
- Oversees the STL help desk operations and ensures proper staff management to meet service level agreements.
- Oversees the design, installation, and optimization of STL cloud environment and related components to achieve high performance of supported business applications.
- Develops processes and procedures for ongoing management of the cloud environment.
- Oversees the physical security, integrity, and safety of on premise data centers.
- Serves as STL Security contact for internal and external agencies, assessing and holistically managing all aspects of risk brought to bear on the enterprise by IT security and legislative/regulatory compliance issues.
- Stays abreast of the current cyber security landscape and ensures mitigations are in place to minimize any known risks.
- Develops and maintains both disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
- Responsible for putting policies and procedures in place to ensure assets are inventoried and properly accounted for.
- Communicates the current priorities of the IT department to their staff, which ultimately come from the priorities of the current elected administration.
- Supports the formulation of an STL strategic plan and actively participates in the implementation of that plan, ensuring staffing aligns to the set priorities.
- Communicates effectively with both non-technical customers about recommended solutions and with technical staff regarding the deployment of agreed-upon solutions.
- Represents STL on technology planning teams and provides advice and counseling to planning members to ensure enterprise guidelines are adhered to when considering new technologies.
- Ensures smooth transitions when new technologies are launched.
- Monitors project timelines with direct reports, manages project risks, assists with clearing roadblocks, and re-allocates resources as necessary.
