The Azure Database Developer will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing database solutions within a Microsoft Azure environment. This role will work heavily with SQL Server, Azure SQL, T-SQL, Azure Data Factory, and ETL/ELT processes, while partnering with technical and business teams to ensure reliable, high-quality data movement and reporting.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on developer who can build and troubleshoot Azure Data Factory pipelines, write complex T-SQL, automate processes using Python or Power Shell, and manage database changes through modern source-control and Dev Ops practices.
Key Responsibilities- Build, maintain, and debug Azure Data Factory (ADF) pipelines to support data integration and movement between systems.
- Develop and optimize stored procedures, tables, views, functions, and other database objects using T-SQL.
- Design and maintain ETL/ELT processes for extracting, transforming, and loading data across multiple systems.
- Perform data transformation, cleansing, validation, and data quality activities to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Develop automation and supporting scripts using Python or Power Shell.
- Work with Azure SQL Database and/or Azure SQL Managed Instance to develop, maintain, and optimize database solutions.
- Troubleshoot data pipelines, database processes, performance issues, and data discrepancies.
- Collaborate with developers, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver scalable solutions.
- Implement and manage database changes using Git, Git Hub, or Azure Dev Ops.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, deployment, and documentation of database and data integration solutions.
- Help modernize existing database and data processes by leveraging Azure cloud technologies and automation.
- 3+ years of professional experience in database development, SQL development, or data engineering.
- Strong hands‑on experience with T-SQL, including stored procedures, tables, views, and complex queries.
- Demonstrated experience building and debugging Azure Data Factory pipelines.
- Experience developing and supporting ETL/ELT processes and data movement between systems.
- Experience with data transformation, data cleansing, and data quality.
- Recent hands‑on experience with Azure SQL Database or Azure SQL Managed Instance, ideally within the last 2–3 years.
- Experience using Python or Power Shell for automation.
- Experience with Git, Git Hub, or Azure Dev Ops for source control and database change management.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
