Position Overview

Carr Lane Manufacturing is looking for a Warehouse Specialist for a short-term special project at our St. Louis facility. This contract role is a great fit for someone in between: taking a career break, retired but not ready to be done working, home for a semester, or simply looking for meaningful project work without a long-term commitment. You’ll take on a defined project with a clear finish line, working alongside our Director of Manufacturing and Warehouse Supervisor to reorganize our warehouse for the future.

This role is expected to last through December 31, 2026, with a completion bonus available for those who see the project through. Although this position is designed as a contract role, strong performers may have the opportunity to be considered for full‑time employment at CLM.

Key Responsibilities
  • Reorganize item and product storage according to an established layout plan, including relocating inventory to updated bin and location assignments
  • Identify and utilize available storage locations, adjusting product placement to maximize space efficiency
  • Update the ERP system to reflect all location changes in real time, ensuring inventory accuracy
  • Coordinate regularly with the Inventory Control and Order Picking and Packing teams to align priorities and minimize disruption to operations
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing and Purchasing teams to support scheduling and inventory availability needs
  • Identify and act on opportunities to consolidate inventory into drawers, maximizing drawer utilization and reducing fragmented storage
  • Assist with cycle counts as needed
Qualifications

Required:

  • 2+ years of professional work experience
  • Associate degree or bachelor’s degree, strongly preferred
  • Experience working on projects
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Teams

Preferred:

  • General knowledge of AI
Physical Requirements

Required:

  • Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, picking, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, repetitive motions
  • Close visual accuracy
  • Subject to noise, hazards, and oils when in production
  • Lift up to 35 lbs
