Buyer II
The Buyer II is responsible knowing Buyer I duties and commodities may be of a complex nature including the type of commodity and/or volume. The Buyer II will manage the purchasing cycle, including requisitions, purchase orders, and will monitor supplier performance, recommend improvements.
This is a hybrid role with the requirement of working onsite at our St Louis, MO facility 3 days/week. This role is not eligible for Visa Sponsorship or H1B Transfer.
What You'll Do as a Buyer II- Identify and select suppliers.
- Manager purchase orders and material flow.
- Collaborate with AP and receiving on supplier invoice management and inventory control.
- Develop short and long-term purchase plans.
- Engage in negotiations with vendors.
- Analyze supplier financial health and stability.
- Support new product initiatives.
- Monitor supplier performance metrics.
- Optimize replenishment methods and lead times.
- Ensure legal compliance with supplier documents.
- Stay informed about market trends.
- Provide input into enterprise-wide sourcing strategy.
Required
- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain or related field.
- Plus 3 years of experience in supply chain, manufacturing, operations, or related function.
- OR High School Diploma/GED.
- Plus 11 years of experience in supply chain, manufacturing, operations, or related function.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
Preferred
- Experience in lean manufacturing environment.
- Experience in MRP system environment.
- Professional certification (SPM, CPIM, CSCP)
