DescriptionThe Dispatch Coordinator I is responsible for proactively sourcing and securing carrier capacity through cold calling, matching loads with dedicated carriers, and leveraging historical data and performance scorecards to optimize carrier assignments. This role also manages inbound carrier communications, audits and resolves operational issues, and builds strong, lasting carrier relationships to support reliable and efficient transportation operations.
EssentialJob Duties
- Source carrier capacity through cold calling, outreach, and relationship development.
- Optimize load assignments using historical data, market insights, and carrier performance scorecards.
- Manage inbound and outbound communication with carriers to ensure timely updates and issue resolution.
- Identify, investigate, and resolve operational and audit-related issues.
- Build and maintain strong carrier relationships, supporting efforts to grow dedicated carrier partnerships.
- Support load coverage through effective planning, coordination, and execution.
- Assist with order payables, costing analysis, and monitoring market trends.
- Proactively support the broader carrier operations team to ensure efficient and reliable transportation performance.
- Additional duties, assigned to support business needs.
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree in business or a related field is a plus.
- 1-3 years of previous experience dispatching, preferably in the logistics field, is required.
- Some experience with customer service is preferred.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs and other general office equipment.

- General office conditions. Exposed to moderate noise levels.
- Required to use close vision and be able to focus.
- Regularly required to talk and hear; frequently required to sit, stand and bend at the knee and waist, and walk.
- Must be able to have repetitive wrist, hand and/or finger movement to type and work on computer.
- Must have finger dexterity and hand-eye coordination to work on computer, telephone, and related office equipment.
- Regular attendance is a necessary and essential function.
