- Maintain sourcing pipeline, benchmarking data, strategy presentations, global budget, and on-time metrics
- Adhere to corporate and departmental purchasing and accounting practices and procedures
- Develop and manage sourcing strategies and bid lists
- Analyze and review quotes
- Coordinate and align RFQ package components, including Terms & Conditions, SOR compliance, technical documentation, and quality alignment
- Lead sourcing recommendations and alignment with cross-functional teams
- Manage sourcing documentation related to the RFQ process in accordance with GM Audit Services requirements
- Support direct material budget activities
- Lead or support supplier relationship management initiatives, including Strategic Supplier Engagement
- Act as a focal point for commercial issue resolution and nurture supplier relationships
- Perform change management activities
- Lead or represent purchasing in supplier KPI reviews
- Represent purchasing and support mitigation of supply chain disruptions
- Promote GM behaviors and values and make customer-focused decisions
- 2+ years of relevant work experience in purchasing, supply chain, program/product management, logistics, finance, account management, business development, or product development; internships and co-op experience are not considered
- Ability to execute with direction or support in data judgment, informative communication, and relationship management
- Emerging ability and willingness to learn and apply negotiation, analytical thinking, results focus, and workload management
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally
- SAP experience or ability to learn purchasing systems
- Ability to work in the United States without current or future GM immigration sponsorship
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or related field preferred
- Experience with commodities preferred
- Cost analysis or manufacturing experience preferred
- Automotive industry experience preferred
- Knowledge of Capacity and Materials Management preferred
- Ability to draw conclusions from complex data, market trends, and the regulatory environment preferred
- Ability to understand basic engineering documents and technical drivers for applicable commodities preferred
- Knowledge of contract law as it applies to purchasing processes preferred
Demonstrates expertise in sourcing strategies, supplier relationship management, and compliance with purchasing practices. Proficient in data analysis, negotiation, and effective communication within cross-functional teams.
