Senior Floor Care Technician (3rd Shift) - OFMD
Washington University in St. Louis is seeking a Senior Floor Care Technician to work the 3rd shift (Sun‑Thu 10:00 PM–6:30 AM) and maintain floor cleanliness across 65 buildings covering over 11.1 million square feet.
Position SummaryResponsible for floor cleaning and maintenance throughout the campus. Must work with cleaning chemicals and understand safety data sheets. Perform hard surface, carpet, and wood floor maintenance as scheduled by supervisor or customer requests, utilizing commercial equipment.
PrimaryDuties & Responsibilities
- Canvas areas of responsibility daily.
- Assess the thoroughness and quality of floors on campus.
- Provide floor maintenance services to the campus.
- Perform daily cleaning services in customer and public areas and floor care as assigned.
- Perform major floor maintenance tasks including stripping and refinishing, scrubbing and top coating, burnishing, carpet extraction, spotting, carpeting, bonneting, and large‑area vacuuming.
- Utilize vacuum cleaners, brushes, cleaning chemicals, floor finish, and other materials related to hard surface floor and carpet cleaning.
- Work with cleaning chemicals and understand safety data sheets for those chemicals.
- Perform all floor tech procedures from proper setup to proper cleanup of the work site and all equipment used for the hard surface or carpet cleaning project.
- 3rd shift schedule:
Sunday–Thursday, 10:00 PM–6:30 AM. - Exposure to chemicals.
- Exposure to moving machinery.
- Frequent lifting of 25 lbs or more; bending, crouching, stooping, standing, walking.
- Use of heavy equipment (buffers).
- High school diploma or equivalent; combination of education and experience acceptable.
- No specific certification required.
- Minimum 2 years of floor care experience.

$17.03 – $24.61 per hour.
