Project Safety Manager - Renewable Energy; Traveler

Overview

McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. is seeking an experienced and qualified Safety Manager to support projects throughout the National Renewable Energy Business Unit. Must have at least 3+ years of experience managing safety on large commercial construction or Renewable Energy projects. Experience in Renewable Energy projects preferred (Battery Storage & Solar).

This is a full-time, site-based position that requires extensive travel to locations that span the continental U.S. Travel subsistence and additional incentives provided per company guidelines.

• Monitor and communicate safety programs and efforts with on-site trade partners and McCarthy employees, ensuring safety is part of our culture and that all new hires have proper safety documents and information.
• Conduct documented safety and health inspections no less than twice per month, coordinating compliance reports.
• Coordinate with Project Supervision so that necessary protective equipment and safety materials are utilized, adequate first aid materials are available and safety documents are posted on-site.
• Investigate all injuries and review all accident reports, coordinating corrective measures with McCarthy employees and logging injuries/illnesses for OSHA purposes.
• Minimize construction hazards and enforce safety policies utilizing the companys disciplinary policy.
• Conduct/coordinate Project Safety Toolbox meetings with all McCarthy employees on a weekly basis
• Record and forward copies of all safety related meetings, programs, safety pre-plans, inspections, correspondence, directives, citations, etc. to the Renewable Energy Safety Director for tracking
• Develop and implement Site Specific Safety Plans for individual projects.
• Assist in developing task specific work planning processes and audit performance adherence.
• Create collaborative, positive safety culture with all McCarthy employees, trade partners and owners.

• 5+ years experience managing safety efforts on solar or energy related projects.
• Bilingual (English - Spanish) preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in related field preferred
• OSHA 500 and CHST certifications preferred.
• Ability to manage/administer safety orientations, oversee substance abuse programs, investigate/report on injuries/illnesses/near misses and perform other various safety functions on-site.
• Ability to work with all construction groups- management, owners, trade partners.
• Excellent communication, organizational, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to travel 100% nationwide.

For California locations only, the salary range for this position is: $100,000 - $135,000. This does not include possible bonus and other benefits which can impact total compensation. Compensation offered may vary based on work location, experience, qualifications, specialty, training, and market and business considerations, among other factors.

For Colorado locations only, In accordance with Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act (SB19-085), we are including McCarthy’s good-faith and reasonable estimate of a range of entry level base compensation at the time of the posting. This does not include possible bonus and other benefits which can impact total compensation. Given the dynamic nature of the large-scale commercial construction industry, a candidate's project portfolio and background can change the role and compensation for which that candidate might be qualified.

The title and pay range for this role could change based on candidate qualifications and experience. Pay Range: $98,600 - $110,800
