Location: St. Louis

The Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis, the leading champion of empowerment and opportunity for African Americans and others throughout the region in securing economic self-reliance, social equality, and civil rights, is seeking a highly motivated individual with a passion for helping others to work as an Assistant Regional Director.

This position will support our Save Our Sons + Sisters program which seeks to help clients secure jobs and can adequately support themselves and their families; live in neighborhoods that are vibrant and thriving; and share in the region's prosperity and well-being.

The Assistant Regional Director will provide services to include development and implementation strategies to achieve contractual goals leading to placement opportunities for clients. Program planning and evaluation, report writing, client documentation, coordination, and monitoring of service delivery with partnering agencies, including positive role modeling are anticipated.

Additional Responsibilities Include
  • Assisting the Regional Director in establishing and enforcing budgets, timelines, and metrics
  • Assisting the Regional Director with planning and implementing programmatic strategies
  • Providing leadership to department staff, communicating goals, offering guidance, and ensuring that projects are completed on schedule.
  • Recommending changes to operational policies based on data.
  • Communicating with clients to resolve complaints or issues they may have with services.
  • Create and present reports to the Regional Director.
  • Manage and monitor daily operations.
  • Building and maintaining positive relationships with clients, management, staff, and the community.
  • Monitoring progress toward overall objectives.
  • Direct and lead the customer service (Call Center Team), analyze and disseminate data to appropriate staff.
  • Fulfill duties as assigned by the Regional Director.
The Ideal Candidate Must Have
  • Excellent customer service
  • Knowledge of casework concepts
  • Skills and techniques needed to be successful in the current workforce
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrate tact and discretion in preparing, disclosing, and handling information of a confidential and sensitive nature
  • Knowledge of common software applications
  • College coursework in business or related fields is desirable and an associate's or bachelor's degree is preferred
