This includesstudy abroad recruitment, oversight of the student lifecycle of study abroad at Webster (application process, advising, pre-departure activities and processes, program support, student issues, emergency response), quality assurance and program assessment.
The Director of Study Abroad works collaboratively with colleagues across Webster unique global network of campuses and partners to increase and strengthen global mobility opportunities for students and to champion study abroad opportunities. This includes working with faculty, staff and administration at the main campus in St. Louis and at Webster's international campuses, exchange partners, study abroad vendors and other internal and external stakeholders.
The Director of Study abroad reports to the Senior Director of Global Education and is a member of the Division of Global Education leadership team. The Director participates in the Division of Global Education Advisory Committee and other relevant university working groups and committees, as needed. The Director works closely with Webster's six schools and colleges, academic and administrative staff of Webster's international campuses, the Asst Director for WINS (Webster International Network of Schools) and a variety of administrative units such as the Bursar, Registrar, Marketing and Community Resource Development, and others.

* Demonstrated ability to initiate, implement and assess projects, using data to inform direction and decisions
* Proven ability to supervise and develop professional staff, to set and achieve goals and prioritize activities
* Excellent oral and written communication skills, including skills in presenting to a variety of audiences and in writing briefings, proposals and communication/recruitment plans
* Understanding of study abroad models, practices and scholarship
* Knowledge of study abroad rules, regulations and best practices and experience in developing and operationalizing polices and processes.
* Knowledge of risk management and crisis communication, response and management in study abroad.
* Ability to develop and manage budgets.
* Ability and willingness to travel.
* Strong cultural awareness and intercultural communication skills.
* Ability to interact with and work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders including students, parents, faculty, administrator and international partners.
* Commitment to diversity of study abroad students and experiences, and to accessibility.
* Master's degree is required.
* Experience living or studying abroad.
* Work requires five years of progressively responsible managerial experience in study abroad administration or a related area.
