SummaryThe Director of Training is responsible for leading the end-to-end training strategy for one or more of the organization's commercial segments, ensuring that training initiatives drive operational excellence and measurable outcomes. This role oversees the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of training programs that accelerate onboarding, increase retention, and elevate skill levels across the commercial segment. As a key architect of the company's continuous learning environment, this director will employ a range of training methods to enhance the teammate experience and foster sustained growth within the organization.

ResponsibilitiesEssential
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Establishes, manages and maintains training strategy for one or more commercial segments, ensuring training fits the business need and the identified learning objectives for the teammate.
- Advise, collaborate, and communicate effectively with executive level leadership to ensure alignment on training strategy and prioritization with business goals.
- Responsible to create end to end training that supports continuous learning and performance development for the lifecycle of the teammate.
- Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) that align with business goals, such as decreasing time to proficiency ("cart readiness"), enhancing retention of new hires, and increasing overall training completion rates.
- Analyze training outcomes and make data-informed adjustments to optimize program effectiveness, addressing gaps and enhancing program impact.
- Ensure training materials are high-quality, multi-modal, and reflective of industry best practices, equipping teammates with essential skills and knowledge for peak performance.
- Guide a team responsible for creating and delivering training programs that accelerate new hires' time-to-productivity, promote higher retention, and improve training completion rates across key segments.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Direct Reports:
Hires, retains, trains, coaches, guides, directs, and develops direct reports using company-wide processes, tools and resources. - Indirect Reports:
May delegate work of others and provide guidance, direction and mentoring to indirect reports.
Travel Requirements
- May include travel up to 25%.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education Level: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
- Area of
Experience:
10+ years of experience in relevant field.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
- Proven experience in leading a training function, ideally within commercial or operational environments.
- Strong ability to develop and execute training strategies that support commercial objectives and enhance teammate engagement and retention.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and partner effectively with leadership and key stakeholders to support business growth.
- Skilled in evaluating training effectiveness and implementing data-driven improvements to maximize impact and align with KPIs.
- Deep understanding of retail operations. Enthusiastic about continuous learning and committed to building a culture that supports teammate growth and long-term career success.
- Solid foundation in Microsoft 360 suite and Adobe creative suite preferred.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing a team to deliver high-quality training content.
Environmental & Physical Requirements
Office / Sedentary Requirements. Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. Work is performed primarily in an office environment. Typically requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time (66%+ each day), ability to hear the telephone, ability to enter data on a computer and may also require the ability to lift up to 10 pounds.
