Overview
The Senior Payroll Administrator is responsible for the end-to-end execution, oversight, and continuous improvement of multi-state payroll operations for Telle Tire & Auto Centers and its affiliated brands. This role serves as a senior-level subject matter expert in payroll compliance, ADP Workforce Now administration, and acquisition integrations, while acting as a trusted partner to HR, Finance, and Operations.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and execute accurate, timely bi-weekly payroll processing across multiple states and entities.
- Review, audit, and validate complex payroll components including commissions, incentives, bonuses, and retroactive pay.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations, including FLSA and wage-hour laws.
- Serve as a primary administrator within ADP Workforce Now, maintaining earnings codes, deductions, taxes, and reporting accuracy.
- Lead payroll setup and integration activities for acquisitions, including data validation, parallel payroll testing, and stabilization.
- Perform advanced payroll reconciliations and support internal and external audits.
- Develop payroll, labor, and compliance reports for HR, Finance, and Operations leadership.
- Serve as escalation point for complex payroll inquiries and mentor payroll team members.
- Identify and implement payroll process improvements and maintain SOP documentation.
- 5–7+ years of progressive payroll experience in a multi-state, multi-location environment.
- Advanced hands-on experience with ADP Workforce Now.
- Strong knowledge of payroll taxes, garnishments, benefits integration, and wage-hour compliance.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel for audits, reconciliations, and reporting.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage competing deadlines with a high level of accuracy and confidentiality.
