Lab Supervisor – Siteman Cancer Center, South County
GREAT OPPORTUNITY for Supervisor Leadership!!! Do you have experience as a leader in a Laboratory setting and looking for your next career move? The Siteman Cancer Center has an opportunity for a Lab Supervisor to lead a team of Lab Techs and Lab Associates in an outpatient setting. Ideal candidate has strong leadership skills, knowledge-based in chemistry and hematology, and is ASCP registered.

Flexible schedule; no weekends, no holidays.

Role PurposeResponsible for managing daily operations (QA/QC, equipment maintenance, workflow, service levels, operational oversight, workspace), staff supervision, scheduling, coaching, staff development, continuous education, and performing analysis within regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities- Manages individual(s) including but not limited to hires, training, assignment of work, performance evaluation, and professional development planning to meet departmental goals.
- Develops and adheres to departmental staffing, revenue and expense budgets.
- Supervises laboratory activities and ensures par levels of supplies and procedures according to policies.
- Keeps abreast of new developments, techniques and procedures; writes and updates procedures for assigned areas.
- Establishes systems and processes to streamline tasks and eliminate waste, ensuring quality services.
- Monitors test analyses and specimen examinations to maintain analytic performance; takes corrective actions.
- Schedules staff and assigns work to ensure procedures are performed promptly and accurately; may perform tasks as needed.
- Bachelor's Degree in Physical/Life Science or related field.
- 2–5 years of laboratory experience.
- Supervisor experience: < 2 years.
- Licenses &
Certifications:
MT/MLS - ASCP or equivalent.
- Supervisor experience: 2–5 years.
