Reports to: Marina General Manager or Marina Assistant Manager
The Seasonal Dock/Store Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the seasonal Top Sider staff team for the dock and the marina store and training them to fulfill their duties and responsibilities during the busy season. This is a seasonal position early May - Labor Day weekend.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Busy Season
- Train new Top Siders on their roles and responsibilities including highlighting the importance of their role in providing customers with excellent customer service
- Ensure staff has a working knowledge of all computer and technology systems and POS software
- Assign duties appropriately after reviewing work orders, arrival notices, and instructions from customers
- Manage the daily workflow and schedule of Top Siders at the marina and keep track of staff absences and injuries
- Notify Human Resources and submit appropriate documentation for Workers’ Compensation claims and OSHA incidents
- Evaluate the performance of Top Siders and provide helpful feedback, track employee progress, and reward employees who meet goals
- Oversee progress on problem resolution and keep manager advised of progress on problems requiring attention daily
- Help resolve employee issues and disputes with each other or with customers
- Hold regular weekly meetings with Top Sider staff to assess the team’s overall status and address any problems and/or concerns that have come to the supervisor’s attention
- Manage employee disciplinary issues by providing verbal warnings

- Maintain local Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Instruction Manual in current order
- Ensure adherence to departmental and/or operations policies, procedures, and practices
- Perform such duties as assigned by the Marina General Manager or Marina Assistant Manager
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Act with the highest level of integrity and maintain a positive attitude.
- Three (2) years or more previous experience in the hospitality, retail, or similar industries; experience achieving financial goals, budgeting activities, inventory control, the direction of personnel, advertising, and customer relations preferred
- Ability to make independent decisions and determine the appropriate action
- Professional conduct and excellent interpersonal and communication skills with team members, customers, tenants, vendors, and government personnel
- Able to work and lead a team with professionalism and integrity
- Adaptable to work composed of a variety of different tasks
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products including Outlook email, Word, and Excel
- Must be willing to work weekends and holidays
