Job Objective

Provide onsite leadership and direction for all Special Services operations including the selection, direction and training of all associates. This position has supervisory responsibility for more than 12 employees, including one supervisor. The primary focus is to meet and exceed client expectations, and to achieve all corporate goals and objectives.

  • Responsible for organizing, scheduling, assigning and performing daily work routines.
  • Responsible for proactively communicating schedule adjustments or delays to the administrative assistant and/or clients.
  • Must be able to plan and perform cleaning operations, office moves, event set‑ups and on‑site support, supervise assigned work projects, and coordinate major work projects with the management team.
  • Act as an ambassador for our company values and philosophy.
  • Provide the leadership and communication skills necessary to build a strong team of trained associates and develop a proactive relationship with the campus at large.
  • Truly sensitive to the unique challenges of managing a team in an academic environment.
  • Able to communicate effectively with the customer and responsive to client feedback.
  • Thoroughly inspect events and work being performed.
  • Ensure employees are following safe work procedures.
  • Point of contact for all Special Services employees.
  • Weekly schedule will vary.

Supervisory Responsibility

  • Manage Special Services team members on a daily basis with regard to quantity and quality of work.
  • Inspect all event areas frequently to ensure that individual and building inspections meet service level quality standards.
  • Utilize computer aided inspection systems and other department provided tools, etc.
  • Responsible for ensuring scheduled work is completed and that the team works in an efficient and professional manner at all times.
  • Ensure team members adhere to all company and university policies including attendance, professionalism, building security, and key control.
  • Discipline and counsel staff in disciplinary actions.

Minimum Qualifications

The requirements listed below are representative of the minimal education, experience, knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required for this position.

Experience:

3-5 years’ experience managing and supervising custodial services
