Job Description

We are seeking a MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations) Clerk to join our team.
Position Overview: The MRO Clerk is responsible for managing the procurement of raw materials, components, and supplies necessary for production. This role involves researching and evaluating vendors, placing orders, tracking inventory levels, and ensuring timely delivery to maintain production schedules and reduce downtime.
Responsibilities:
- Work with appropriate Company personnel to identify tools/parts or equipment needed and ordered to ensure production operations are uninterrupted. Expedite critical orders
- Maintain and structure the tool crib for efficiency and organizational purposes
- Communicate in a professional manner with multiple vendors through phone/email for price quotes, negotiating the best price for the Company. Build/maintain those relationships with regular interactions and follow-up
- Enter new orders and update (as needed) in the ERP system. Follow-up with the appropriate personnel when critical data is known
- Ensure all essential paperwork is completed in a timely manner, getting signatures when required. If necessary, follow-up with employees for compliance
- Optimize the execution of the supply chain balancing inventory, supply orders and schedule demand
- Provide insight on cost saving measures to management
- Prepare and execute negotiated contracts as directed, ensuring documentation is organized
- Receive items as they arrive to the facility, comparing to purchase orders
- Continually monitor data, working with accounting as a team, to ensure month end data is completed appropriately. Reconcile all discrepancies
- Monitor old/unused materials. Communicate with Production Manager on disposal of items
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree preferred
- 1-3 years of purchasing or inventory experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Prior experience working with vendors for pricing preferred
- ERP/MRP experience preferred, preferably INFOR
- Solid research and negotiation experience
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Skilled in clear and succinct written communication
- Work prioritization and effective problem-solving skills are critical
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently or in a team setting
