Job Overview
Legrand has an exciting opportunity for an Assembler to join the OCL Team in St. Louis, MO. The role involves the assembly, test, and modification of electrical components using blueprints and schematics. The assembler will use various machines and adhesives to fully assemble a light fixture.
Responsibilities- Reads blueprints, wiring diagrams, assembly drawings, and receives verbal instructions regarding work assignment.
- Aligns and assembles parts such as leads, coils, wires, tabs and terminals into housing.
- Routes and laces cables.
- Installs components and parts such as switches, coils, transformers, relays, transistors, ballasts, and semiconductor circuits on panels and other units.
- Routes and attaches wires and connectors to form circuitry and connects assembly to power supply sources, switch panels, or junction boxes; attaches hardware and seals assembly.
- Examines parts for defects: both visual (chips, scratches) and operational.
- Tests unit to locate defects, measure performance, determine need for adjustment and verify specified operation.
- Replaces defective component and wiring.
- Assembles and calibrates fixture according to specifications.
- High School Diploma or GED; trade school.
- Six months of manufacturing experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Good hand-eye coordination and excellent manual dexterity, ability to work with small, detailed objects.
- Work independently with ability to prioritize and work under sometimes tight deadlines.
- Regular attendance.
- Ability to work cooperatively with others.
- Ability to retain new information and skills.
