Small Parts Assembler / Production Operator – Assembly Team Job Description

This entry-level production role focuses on assembling and packaging small parts and components as part of a dedicated assembly team. You will operate light machinery, use hand and power tools, and follow detailed work instructions and blueprints to ensure products meet quality and functionality standards.

Responsibilities
  • Perform assembly of a variety of small parts and components using appropriate hand tools, power tools, and other equipment.
  • Operate light machinery to bag, label, and etch parts and components according to established procedures.
  • Interpret and follow written work instructions and blueprints to complete assembly tasks accurately and efficiently.
  • Check part functionality when required to ensure products meet quality and performance standards.
  • Work as part of a team, following directions and collaborating with colleagues to meet production goals and timelines.
  • Manage time effectively to maintain consistent workflow and meet daily production targets.
  • Maintain manual dexterity and close visual acuity to handle small parts and perform detailed assembly work.
  • Lift and move materials and components weighing up to 35 pounds as needed.
  • Adhere to safety procedures while working in an environment subject to noise, hazards, and oils, ensuring a clean and organized work area.
  • Communicate clearly with supervisors and team members to report issues, ask questions, and support continuous improvement.

  • Basic technical knowledge of assembly equipment, tools, and processes.
  • Experience using hand tools and power tools in a production or mechanical assembly environment.
  • Ability to work well independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Mechanical aptitude and interest in mechanical assembly and inspection.
  • Willingness to learn new manufacturing techniques and expand technical skills through training and development programs.
Work Environment

The role is based in a climate-controlled production facility designed to support comfort and consistency in daily work. You will work Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., following a stable daytime schedule. The environment involves regular use of hand tools and power tools, as well as light machinery for bagging, labeling, and etching parts. Work activities include mechanical assembly and inspection of small components, requiring manual dexterity, close visual acuity, and repetitive motions.

The facility may involve exposure to noise, operational hazards, and oils, with safety procedures in place to minimize risk. The production setting emphasizes organization, adherence to safety standards, and teamwork, providing a structured and professional atmosphere for learning and performing assembly tasks.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saint Louis, MO.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $18.00/hr.
