About The OpportunityOur client is an established building products manufacturer expanding operations with the launch of a new manufacturing facility in Fredericktown, Missouri.
They are seeking an experienced Plant Operations Manager to lead the day‑to‑day operations of this new facility while ensuring operational excellence in production, safety, quality, maintenance, shipping, and employee engagement.
This is an outstanding opportunity for a manufacturing leader who enjoys building teams, improving processes, and helping launch a new operation from the ground up.
What You'll Do Plant Operations- Oversee daily manufacturing operations, including production, quality, maintenance, shipping, and warehouse activities
- Ensure production schedules are achieved while maintaining quality standards and on-time customer delivery
- Monitor plant performance and drive operational efficiency across all departments
- Support the successful startup, growth, and long‑term success of the new manufacturing facility
- Lead, coach, and develop production supervisors and plant employees
- Build a positive, accountable, and high‑performing manufacturing culture
- Manage staffing, scheduling, training, and employee performance
- Promote employee engagement, accountability, and continuous development
- Maintain compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies
- Promote a strong safety culture throughout the facility
- Ensure equipment, processes, and employees operate in a safe and compliant environment
- Implement and improve manufacturing processes to increase productivity, efficiency, and cost control
- Identify opportunities for lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives
- Establish and monitor operational KPIs with company leadership
- Prepare operational reports and communicate plant performance to executive leadership
- Monitor inventory levels and partner with purchasing and supply chain teams to maintain material availability
- Collaborate with engineering, sales, customer service, and leadership to resolve production challenges and improve customer satisfaction
- Support operational planning as the facility continues to expand and grow
- Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing leadership experience within the windows and doors industry or a closely related building products manufacturing environment
- Previous experience as a Plant Manager, Operations Manager, Production Manager, or similar manufacturing leadership role
- Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, production planning, scheduling, quality control, and inventory management
- Demonstrated success leading production teams and improving operational performance
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and workplace safety programs
- Strong leadership, communication, coaching, and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and manufacturing ERP systems
- Windows and door manufacturing experience
- Building products manufacturing experience
- Experience launching or expanding manufacturing operations
- Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma experience
- Experience implementing operational improvements within a growing manufacturing environment
- Competitive Salary: $60,000–$85,000 based on experience
