Position: High‑Speed Packaging Line Machine Operator (Plastics)
Location: St. Louis

Step Into a Day on Our Packaging Line

You arrive to a clean, safety-first production floor, greet the outgoing operator, and review the status of your assigned line. You confirm the day’s goals, load raw materials, and bring the equipment up to spec. Throughout your 12-hour day shift (3 days one week, 4 the next), you fine-tune settings, run quality checks on containers, document adjustments, and keep your station spotless.

When an issue pops up, you troubleshoot quickly, perform basic preventive maintenance, and communicate what matters so the next shift starts strong.

Schedule

Day Shift available – 12-hour shifts – 3 days one week – 4 days the next week

What You’ll Do
  • Own an assigned production line to meet daily output, quality, and product standards
  • Conduct shift handoff: evaluate performance with the previous operator and align on priorities
  • Operate, adjust, and monitor machinery to standard; perform preventive maintenance and escalat[e] issues
  • Perform routine container quality checks; document variances and machine adjustments
  • Maintain raw material levels for your equipment; keep machines and surrounding areas clean and organized
  • Follow all safety protocols; wear PPE correctly and consistently
  • Maintain a tidy workstation; assist with cleaning assigned equipment/areas as directed by your Supervisor
  • Follow plant job specifications and task lists; work assigned shifts, overtime, and attend after-hours meetings as needed
  • Pitch in with other duties as requested
Food Safety Responsibilities
  • Monitor and verify that all inbound and outbound product meets food safety as well as quality standards
  • Follow all company food safety and quality procedures; complete documentation accurately
  • Sanitize all product-contact surfaces after completing any task
  • Report any product or process failures that could impact food safety of manufactured product to Quality and/or Line/Maintenance Supervision.
Qualifications

You’re detail-focused, reliable on long production runs, and comfortable collaborating across shifts.

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • 1–2 years of relevant experience/training preferred; plastics or packaging background is a plus
  • Working knowledge of computer operating systems

Physical Demands

You’ll frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds and use close vision to inspect parts. Expect extended periods of standing and walking on concrete, with regular sitting, hand use (finger, handle, feel), and talking/hearing. At times you’ll reach with hands/arms, stoop, bend, or twist, and occasionally push, pull, or move materials.
