Position Summary

The Extraction Supervisor reports directly to the Director of Operations and oversees hydrocarbon extraction, ethanol extraction, post-processing, and distillation activities. This is a hands-on leadership position that works alongside the extraction team while managing production schedules, batch records, safety requirements, product quality, and regulatory compliance.

The Extraction Supervisor is responsible for ensuring daily operations are performed safely, accurately, and efficiently. This position provides technical guidance, maintains production and compliance documentation, monitors equipment and process performance, and establishes clear expectations for safety, quality, accountability, and operational excellence.

A valid Missouri Agent  required. Candidates must be at least 21 years of age.

Essential Duties and Responsibilitie s Team Leadership
  • Directly supervise extraction technicians and provide day-to-day leadership and operational oversight.
  • Assign daily tasks, production priorities, and personnel coverage to maintain an efficient workflow and meet production goals.
  • Provide hands-on technical guidance and real-time coaching during extraction, post-processing, and distillation activities.
  • Conduct regular performance check-ins and document employee performance observations.
  • Communicate employee performance, development needs, and concerns to the Director of Operations.
  • Lead the onboarding, training, and qualification of new technicians on equipment operation, safety requirements, and established Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Promote a team culture centered on safety, quality, accountability, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
  • Promptly elevate personnel concerns, production delays, equipment issues, and safety incidents to the Director of Operations with appropriate documentation.
Extraction and Processing Operations
  • Actively participate in and supervise hydrocarbon extraction, ethanol extraction, post-processing, and distillation operations.
  • Oversee and perform hydrocarbon extraction activities, including pre-run preparation, in accordance with safety protocols and internal SOPs.
  • Supervise and perform ethanol extraction operations, including filtration and solvent recovery.
  • Oversee and perform post-processing activities in accordance with established procedures and quality requirements.
  • Execute and supervise distillation operations, including equipment preparation, cleaning, operation, and yield documentation.
  • Ensure the proper startup, operation, cleaning, and shutdown of all chemical processing equipment.
  • Monitor critical process parameters throughout production and take immediate corrective action when deviations occur.
  • Accurately weigh, measure, count, and label materials and products according to established procedures.
  • Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, process deviations, and production issues.
Equipment Maintenance
  • Schedule, perform, and oversee routine preventive maintenance for chemical processing equipment.
  • Inspect and replace gaskets, seals, filters, and other equipment components as needed.
  • Lubricate fittings and valves according to equipment requirements and maintenance schedules.
  • Coordinate or perform the calibration of pressure gauges, temperature sensors, and other process-monitoring equipment.
  • Clean condensers, coils, collection vessels, and related equipment.
  • Document preventive maintenance, repairs, inspections, and equipment concerns.
  • Promptly report equipment conditions that could affect safety, quality, compliance, or production.
Safety, Quality, and Compliance
  • Ensure all chemical processing activities comply with applicable Missouri Division of Cannabis Regulation requirements and internal SOPs.
  • Review and approve production batch records, equipment logs, and run data for accuracy and completeness before submission.
  • Maintain METRC compliance for all extract and distillate production.
  • Ensure all required METRC batch entries are completed accurately and on time.
  • Lead or participate in the development, review, and revision of SOPs for chemical processing workflows.
  • Support internal audits, regulatory inspections, and quality investigations.
