Job Description

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced MIG/TIG Welder with strong hands-on welding and fabrication skills. The ideal candidate will have professional experience welding a variety of metals, including stainless steel, aluminum, and carbon/mild steel, and be comfortable working from drawings, blueprints, work orders, and specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform MIG and TIG welding on stainless steel, aluminum, carbon/mild steel, and other metals.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, work orders, and fabrication specifications.
• Set up and adjust welding equipment based on material type and thickness.
• Measure, cut, fit, tack, and weld components according to specifications.
• Perform fabrication work using appropriate hand and power tools.
• Grind, clean, and finish welded components as required.
• Inspect completed welds for penetration, porosity, undercut, weld profile, defects, and overall quality.
• Correct welding or fabrication defects when necessary.
• Use measuring and fabrication tools to verify dimensions and fit.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area and follow all company safety procedures.
• Meet established production and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Previous professional MIG and TIG welding experience required.
• Experience welding stainless steel, aluminum, and carbon/mild steel preferred.
• Strong fabrication and fitting ability.
• Ability to read and work from blueprints and fabrication drawings.
• Ability to independently set up and adjust welding equipment.
• Experience with grinding, cutting, fitting, and finishing.
• Welding certifications are beneficial but may not be required depending on experience.
• Strong attendance and reliability are important.

For Montana Tipton, the biggest things to establish during the screen are the depth of his TIG experience, stainless and aluminum welding, welding machine setup, blueprint reading, and whether he can independently fabricate from print to finished product. His resume already establishes MIG welding, fabrication, cutting, fitting, grinding, assembly, and some brake press/shear experience.
