Position SummaryThe Volunteer Engagement Specialist strengthens community involvement by recruiting, training, and engaging volunteers while developing meaningful partnerships that support GASA’s Community Hub model. This role expands organizational capacity across Social Stability and Early Childhood Education programs through effective volunteer coordination, community outreach, and in‑kind donation support.
Key Responsibilities- Recruit, onboard, and place volunteers across agency programs
- Maintain volunteer records, documentation, and compliance in Salesforce
- Develop volunteer roles and opportunities in partnership with staff
- Plan volunteer appreciation activities and engagement efforts
Community Engagement
- Build relationships with businesses, schools, civic groups, and faith communities
- Represent GASA at community events and volunteer fairs
- Support outreach and recruitment materials
- Collaborate with Communications to highlight volunteer stories
- Oversee collection, tracking, and reporting of in‑kind donations
- Support solicitation of items for program and event needs
- Assist leadership in identifying volunteer priorities aligned with organizational goals
- Help develop tools to measure volunteer and community impact
- Experience with volunteer coordination and community outreach
- Strong communication and relationship‑building skills
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple projects
- Comfort working in fast‑paced, flexible environments
- Experience with data tracking and program evaluation
