Job SummaryPosition Summary
St. Francis Xavier (College) Church seeks a full‑time Director of Social Ministry to lead the parish’s service, justice, and outreach initiatives. This role provides strategic leadership for Social Ministry programs, supports parish volunteers and staff, builds community partnerships, and helps advance the parish’s antiracism commitments. The Director reports to the Director of the Work and serves as a visible leader in the parish and wider community.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead direct‑service programs, including the weekly & Birth Certificate Program and Xavier Winter Inn shelter
- Support program development and ensure alignment with parish mission
- Supervise part‑time Social Ministry staff and support volunteer leaders
- Strengthen partnerships with SLU, Jesuit partners, community organizations, and justice ministries
- Represent College Church in advocacy and coalition work, including the Missouri s Coalition
- Support parish antiracism efforts and implement racial equity recommendations
- Oversee Social Ministry budget, communications, and administrative records
- Secure grants for the and assist with fundraising efforts, including the annual Christmas Appeal
Qualifications – Required
- 3–5 years in ministry, nonprofit leadership, community organizing, or related field
- Strong organizational, communication, and relationship‑building skills
- Ability to collaborate with diverse partners and uphold Catholic Social Teaching
- Proficiency with Google Workspace
Qualifications – Preferred
- Experience in a parish, Jesuit, or Catholic setting
- Grant writing or fundraising experience
- Training in antiracism and racial justice
Compensation
$70,000 annually plus benefits.
