American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) position requiring scrub and circulate experience in cardiac, thoracic, and vascular procedures.
Job Details
• Work in a CVOR unit within a hospital acute care and teaching environment,
• Primarily handles cardiac, thoracic, vascular (open and endovascular), transplant (liver, kidney, pancreas), and pancreatic (Whipple) procedures,
• Requires both scrub and circulate duties,
• Rotating shift start times including 0630, 0800, 0900, 1100, and 2300,
• Monday through Friday schedule with day shifts (4x10 hours: 6:30-17:00),
• On-call required: 3-4 weekday and 1-2 weekend call shifts per 6 week period depending on unit needs,
• Weekend work required as per call policy,
• Floating required within service line as needed,
• EMR used is Epic; prior Epic experience required for certain units,
Job Requirements
• Active MO or compact RN license; pending license accepted,
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required,
• 2 years of CVOR experience required, or 1 year if experience is in a Level 1 trauma facility,
• First-time travelers accepted only with more than 2 years' experience at a Level 1 trauma facility,
• Scrub and circulate experience in cardiovascular, thoracic, and vascular cases required,
• Must reside at least 75 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted,
• Maximum of 7 days requested time off allowed during 13-week contract, with no time off during orientation,
• Epic charting experience required for some units,
Additional Information
• RN will participate in both scrub and circulate roles for complex cardiovascular, thoracic, and vascular surgical cases,
• Role includes handling open and endovascular procedures as well as transplant and Whipple procedures,
• Scrub attire required; navy scrubs must be worn,
• Holiday coverage required as needed and discussed in advance,
• Returning employees must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler,
• Travelers may work up to 18 months before a required 3-month break,
• All training modules must be completed prior to start; orientation details provided upon assignment,
• Parking information and orientation instructions will be provided,
