Located on the campus of Missouri Baptist Medical Center, the Nurse Practitioner position will support both our Arrhythmia Center and Valve Clinic. The centers include highly trained and hospital-based specialists. As a nurse practitioner in the centers, you will work alongside our cardiac electrophysiologists and partner with structural heart cardiologists, heart surgeons and interventional cardiologists to care for every type of cardiac condition.
Preferred QualificationsRole Purpose
Manages acute and chronic illnesses, performs assessments, procedures, interprets diagnostic studies, and initiates treatment plans both within an ambulatory practice and in a hospital setting within the scope of a given procedural specialty (i.e., Cardiology, Vascular Surgery, Ortho, and Post-Acute). Navigates high-acuity cases within the scope of a formal physician collaborative practice agreement.
Responsibilities- Manages the health care of patient populations with compassion in specialty services such as Cardiology, Vascular Surgery, Orthopedics and Post-Acute in the hospital, skilled nursing and clinic settings where procedures, prescriptive services, rounding and call obligations are expected.
- Maintains and exhibits knowledge of specialty-specific pathophysiology, hospital protocols, regulatory requirements, and communication skills to support patient education under the general medical direction of the collaborating physician.
- Develops treatment plans, treats patients with acute problems including illnesses and injuries under the general medical direction of the collaborating physician.
- Responsible for hospital patient rounding and being on-call for inpatient services, ambulatory follow-up, and medical management of patients.
