American Traveler is seeking a Psychiatric RN for a behavioral health unit requiring BLS, CPI, and Epic experience with adult and geriatric populations.

Job Details

• Work in a short-term acute care hospital in a behavioral health (locked unit) setting,

• Care for adult and geriatric behavioral health patients, including those with medical co-morbidities and complex psychiatric diagnoses,

• Typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:6,

• Required to float within service line to all behavioral health units as needed,

• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hour shifts from 7:00 to 19:30,

• Every other weekend coverage is required,

• No on-call responsibilities,

• Uses Epic electronic medical record system,

Job Requirements

• Active MO or compact RN license (pending license accepted at submission),

• Current BLS and CPI certifications required,

• Minimum 1-2 years of inpatient psychiatric nursing experience,

• Experience with medical and psychiatric patient care, including medication administration, IVs, blood glucose monitoring, and Foley catheter care,

• Ability to care for patients with substance use, developmental disabilities, and various psychiatric and medical diagnoses,

• Epic charting experience required,

• Must reside outside a 75-mile radius; no local candidates accepted,

Additional Information

• Administer psychiatric and medical nursing care to patients aged 18-64, including those with depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, substance withdrawal, or medical co-morbidities,

• May assist with pre-op prep for ECT and care for patients with intellectual or developmental disabilities,

• Participate in a team-based environment at a Magnet and teaching Level I Trauma Center,

• Navy scrubs required for the unit,

• First-time travelers considered after clinical screening,

• Permanent employees must wait one year before returning as travelers,

• No more than 7 days of requested time off allowed per 13-week contract; none during first week of orientation,

• Travelers are eligible for up to 18 months of assignment before a 3-month break is required,

• Paid module time included during orientation,

• Monthly parking passes are available through hospital security,
