Position summary:

perform the duties required to coordinate and monitor provision of medical services in a professional manner for each individual patient.

Education:

bachelor's of science in nursing.

Experience:

three (3) years as an rn in community clinic, public health nursing, and/or hospital setting.

Skills and abilities

(which may be representative but not all inclusive of those commonly, associated with this position):

* requires strong verbal and written communication skills.

* ability to work effectively individually as well as a team member with physicians and other staff.

* ability to appropriately interact and educate patients, families, and staff.

* experience with electronic medical record (emr) and microsoft office applications such as outlook, word and power point.

* ability to coordinate the activities of a busy provider practice.

* ability to maintain confidentiality.

Transportation requirement: must possess a valid driver's license and automobile with insurance coverage as required by the state of missouri.

License(s)/certificate(s): licensed as rn in the state of missouri.

Essential functions

* coordinate and monitor the quality of medical assistant services.

* coordinate and monitor provisions of medical services.

* assist providers, take and record vital signs, abnormal results, distribute sample medications and administer injections per provider's orders.

* triage walk-in clients, call-in clients as appropriate for patient care and safety.

* keep patients' records, complete appropriate forms and reports. Provide appropriate documentation. Adhere to patient confidentiality.

* monitor exam set-up.

* provide health education and counsel patients and family members in provider instructions and treatment program. Coordinate nursing care plans with other team members.

* initiate the referral of high-risk patients and families for special services, team management, and track the patient's referral (i.e.) abnormal lab results.

* assist with implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of quality improvement programs.

* observe sign and symptoms, document and report reactions of the treatment to the provider.

* perform other duties as assigned.
