We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Assistant Nurse Manager to help lead our growing Pulmonary Progressive Care and Acute Medicine Unit. This role is responsible for the oversight of two floors, ensuring exceptional clinical quality, operational excellence, and team engagement across both service lines. This leader ensures the delivery of high quality, patient‑centered care for complex respiratory and medically acute populations, including tracheostomy and ventilated patients.
Responsibilities- Manage individual(s) including hires, training, assignment of work, performance evaluation, professional development plans.
- Ensure that the productivity and actions of the group meet or support overall operational goals as established by department leadership.
- Participate in development of departmental staffing, revenue and expense budgets; adhere to those goals.
- Provide and oversee patient care according to planned interventions with regard to age and developmental needs to attain optimal wellness; document according to policy.
- Create and ensure implementation of a collaborative plan of care based on assessment, diagnosis and medical treatment.
- Review staff hours worked vs scheduled hours, determine dispositions; perform and approve daily payroll updates; reconcile time cards, bonus tracking and coding approval.
- Prepare, coordinate and execute all staff communications; prepare huddle agendas; lead meetings; determine staffing needs; make nursing assignments and assign overtime.
- Recommend effective annual increases; interview staff for open positions; evaluate and conduct performance reviews; draft corrective actions and coaching; follow up on disciplinary actions to ensure compliance.
- Conduct performance evaluations and recommend improvements as needed.
- Work in a constant state of alertness and safety; this is a safety‑sensitive position.
- Education:
Bachelor's Degree – Nursing - Experience:
2‑5 years in nursing - Supervisor
