Position Summary

A highly collaborative and caring neurology clinic at the main medical campus is seeking a flexible, fast-learning Staff Nurse I. This outpatient role supports a dedicated team of providers and staff, serving as a vital liaison for older adults navigating memory-related conditions. The clinic environment is exceptionally supportive, featuring cohesive team dynamics and highly approachable, helpful physicians.

Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Location:

Main Medical Campus (4488 Forest Park Ave.) (Outpatient)

• No Nights, No Weekends, No On Call

The selected candidate manages daily clinic flow, performs patient testing, draws blood, and assists providers during clinical procedures. They also act as the primary liaison between patients and providers by managing MyChart messages and telephone inquiries, while additionally helping patients complete required medical paperwork and documentation.

Primary

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Utilizes the nursing process in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating a plan of patient care.
• Provides patient care, which may include administering medication, performing procedures and monitoring patient status in accordance with approved nursing practice.
• Provides appropriate counsel and education to patients/families regarding disease process and symptom management.
• Maintains medical records requiring appropriate and timely recording of patient information.
• Consults with members of the health care team, adjusting nursing care processes as indicated to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Assists the health care provider with examinations, procedures, prescription refills and other processes related to direct patient care.
• Maintains required skills and competencies and participates in educational programs, staff meetings and in services such as CPR as required.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education:
Associate degree - Nursing

Certifications/Professional Licenses:

Basic Life Support - American Heart Association, Basic Life Support - American Red Cross, Registered Nurse - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation, Registered Nurse - Missouri Division of Professional Registration
