Advanced Practice Provider - Fellow. A paid, year‑long fellowship that provides the opportunity for an individual to continue their education in a practical setting within the BJC Healthcare system.
PrimaryDuties & Responsibilities
- Experience a wide variety of clinical settings including outpatient, inpatient, and peri‑operative practice.
- Participate in weekly continuing education sessions.
- Assist with a research project.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Job location:
Normal office environment and patient care settings. - Physical effort:
Typically sitting at desk or table, occasionally standing or walking. - Repetitive wrist, hand, or finger movement.
- Equipment:
Office equipment, clinical/diagnostic equipment.
Education
- Master’s degree (e.g., Master of Science in Nursing).
- Certified Nurse Practitioner – Illinois Dept. of Financial and Professional Regulation;
Certified Nurse Practitioner – Missouri Division of Professional Registration. - Nurse Practitioner (NP) within 3 months – Missouri Division of Professional Registration.
- Physician Assistant – Illinois Dept. of Financial and Professional Regulation;
Physician Assistant – Missouri Division of Professional Registration. - Registered Nurse – Illinois Dept. of Financial and Professional Regulation;
Registered Nurse – Missouri Division of Professional Registration.

- M.S.N. – Master of Science in Nursing with emphasis in the Nurse Practitioner program.
- APN licensure or ability to obtain licensure within three months.
- Basic Life Support certification (hands‑on required).
- For Physician Assistant Fellows:
Graduate of PA program;
Current PA licensure in Missouri or Illinois or ability to obtain within three months. - Basic Life Support certification (hands‑on required).
- Additional certifications may be necessary based on specialty.
