Position Summary
This position is for a full‑time Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner, working under the Department of Radiology, Ground Floor Clinic in the Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology e trained, you will independently manage outpatient care, coordinate with providers, and perform occasional minor procedures within the scope of practice delineated by the supervising physician. The primary focus of this role will be seeing new patients and follow‑ups in clinic with the goal of growing our service lines in interventional oncology, peripheral vascular disease, venous disease, portal hypertension, women’s health, and men’s health.
The position will also occasionally cover inpatient rounding and consult services at Barnes Jewish Hospital and Missouri Baptist Hospital.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Obtain patient history, perform assessment via observation, interview and examination, order and interpret diagnostic studies, and conduct preventative health assessments, screenings, immunizations, and patient care.
- Provide direct treatment and management of acute and chronic disease conditions; develop and implement patient‑centered plans of care in collaboration with physicians, nurses, consultants, and ancillary care providers.
- Bill for services covered by collaborative practice agreements.
- Provide counseling and education to patients and families/caregivers regarding disease management, complication prevention, disease prevention, quality‑of‑life improvement, and outcome management.
- Monitor and ensure accuracy of patient medical records; maintain required reports, records, statistics, and regulatory documentation.
- Maintain a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment for patients/families in accordance with clinic/hospital standards.
- Manage health conditions through prescriptive authority or referral to other healthcare providers or community resources; perform diagnostic or therapeutic interventions consistent with certification and state regulations.
- Champion the safety and quality of care for patients using ITB therapy and serve as an expert in the care and management of ITB pumps; help develop a detailed educational program for patients and lead the quality and safety initiative for the program.
- Serve as a clinical expert regarding rehabilitation nursing while demonstrating a high level of autonomy and expert skill in complex clinical nursing situations.
- Provide management services for clinical research study projects; monitor participating subjects, including medication administration and family/patient education.
- Work in accordance with established departmental policies, procedures, quality assurance programs, and safety, environmental and infection control standards.
- Participate in constant quality improvement and process improvement activities centered on providing exceptional, evidence‑based patient care.
- Enhance professional growth and development through educational programs, current literature, in‑service meetings and workshops.
- Contribute to the advancement of the rehabilitation nursing profession through research, publications, and presentations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Exposure to blood‑borne pathogens and chemicals, requiring protective devices.

- Direct patient care setting.
- Typical activities: sitting at desk or table; standing or walking; bending, crouching, stooping.
- Requires high dexterity with tools; occasional lifting (≤25lbs).
- Equipment: office equipment, lab/research equipment, clinical/diagnostic equipment.
- Nurse Practitioner: Master of Science in Nursing with emphasis in the Nurse Practitioner program;
Advanced Practical Nurse licensure (or ability to obtain within three months of hire);
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (online BLS certifications without a skills assessment are not acceptable). - Physician Assistant: Graduate of a PA program;
