Position Details
Inpatient Medical Oncology. Days: 4–10 hour shifts. Every 6th weekend rotation. The position works closely with other APPs, Hospitalists, and Oncology Attendings.

The nurse practitioner functions within their scope of practice as a healthcare provider, working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary health team to provide comprehensive care to patients and families across practice settings. They demonstrate a high degree of clinical expertise in working with patients with acute and chronic illnesses commonly encountered within the inpatient setting.
Responsibilities- Provides compassionate, appropriate, and effective patient and family-centered care for health recovery, illness prevention, treatment of critically ill, or end-of-life care.
- Responsible for assessment, diagnosis, treatment, management, education, health promotion, and care coordination for patients and families with acute and chronic health needs in an academic inpatient setting.
- Communicates and collaborates effectively with patients, families, physicians, medical/surgical trainees, and other health professionals.
- Demonstrates the highest level of accountability for professional practice by participating in professional development, quality initiative/performance activities, and implementing standards of care within area of specialization.
- Maintains constant state of alertness to ensure safe and effective care, as this is a safety‑sensitive position.
- Education: Master’s Degree in Nursing
- Experience: No experience required for supervisor position
- Licenses &
Certifications:
Licensed APRN in Missouri, National APRN Board Certification
- Education: Doctorate in Nursing
- Experience: 2–5 years
- BJH:
Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (AGPCNP), Adult Nurse Practitioner (ANP), or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP- with appropriate experience)
- BJH:
Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP) or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP)
