Position: Charge Nurse Team Lead – Women's Outpatient Pre-op/Post-op - $36-58 per hour
Location: St. Louis

BJC Health Care is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) Outpatient Pre Op / PACU - Post Anesthesia Care Lead for a nursing job in Saint Louis, Missouri.

Overview

The position is based at Missouri Baptist Medical Center, an acute care hospital in St.Louis County that offers comprehensive medical, surgical, and specialty services. The RN Lead will manage the Pre Op/PACU unit in the Women's Outpatient Center, ensuring high quality patient care and leading shift operations.

Responsibilities
  • Directly manage the unit on a designated shift, including staffing, scheduling, and resource utilization.
  • Perform direct patient care and serve as a clinical resource for nursing and support staff.
  • Facilitate identification and resolution of gaps in care from hospitalization to discharge and into the ambulatory setting.
  • Lead development and implementation of complex care plans, collaborating with interprofessional team members and incorporating patient, family, or caregiver input.
  • Champion evidence‑based practice through participation in journal clubs, literature reviews, and dissemination of new knowledge to the unit.
  • Analyze practice gaps and provide constructive feedback to peers and leadership to enhance patient safety and care quality.
  • Lead evaluation of patient and family experience, adjusting care practices to improve satisfaction and outcomes.
  • Maintain constant state of alertness and safe practices as a safety‑sensitive position.
Qualifications
  • Minimum:
    Nursing diploma or associate degree in Nursing, RN license, 2–5years of experience, no supervisory experience required.
  • Preferred:
    Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, 5–10years of experience.
