Barnes Jewish Hospital – 1500-bed, Level I Trauma Center, Pod 3 Hearts. Shift options:
Nights 20:30-07:00 Monday‑Friday (20 to 30‑hour shifts). Work cardiac, thoracic and vascular procedures. No call, no weekends, 1-2 holidays per year. Cardiac includes minimally invasive procedures, heart failure, heart/lung transplants, thoracic, robotics, and vascular/endovascular surgery. Comprehensive benefits available.

The Perioperative Services team, including RN, RNFA, and ST, work in a fast‑paced environment with world‑renowned surgeons and anesthesiologists.

Role

Purpose:

Provides direct patient care activities including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation within the standards of nursing care.

• Promotes patient and family centered care in a healing environment.
• Educates patients and their families on how to manage their illness or injury, including post‑treatment home care needs and medication administration.
• Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance.
• Participates in professional development.
• Develops, implements, and documents individual plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with other members of the interprofessional team and patient, family or caregiver in accordance with established guidelines and standards of nursing care.
• Proactively plans and ensures communication of the plan of care across the continuum of care.
• Uses critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs according to standards of care.
• Assesses patient preferences and barriers to involvement in care, including values, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and population‑specific needs.

• RN preferred. Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
