Job Details
• Work in the Interventional Radiology unit of a large, short-term acute care academic teaching hospital with 1,259 staffed beds,
• All adult IR procedures performed, including body, vascular, and neuro,
• Average daily census of 8 patients per nurse,
• Schedule is Monday-Friday, 4x10-hour shifts (7:30-18:00),
• Weeknight call coverage (Mon-Thu, 18:00-07:30) expected approximately 3-4 times per 13-week contract,
• Weekend call coverage (Fri 18:00-Mon 07:30) expected approximately 1-2 times per 13-week contract,
• Approximately once per week, the nurse may be designated to remain past the end of shift to complete ongoing procedures ('Backup'),
• Every 5th or 6th Saturday (08:00-16:00) may be required as needed,
• Procedures may extend past 18:00 when ongoing cases are in progress,
• Skills utilized include titrating drips, central line management, CT-guided procedures, and bone biopsy,
• Philips monitors used in this unit,
• Charting is done in Epic,
Job Requirements
• Active MO RN license or Compact RN license required (must be in hand at time of consideration),
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required,
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required,
• Critical care background required - ICU, ED, or procedural experience accepted,
• Must pass a Relias EKG exam; EKG interpretation and dysrhythmia management skills required,
• Ability to work independently is required,
• No visible tattoos; facial piercings must be removed or covered,
• Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position,
Additional Information
• Prior IR experience is not required for this role,
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply,
• Navy scrubs are required,
• Epic charting experience is required,
• No more than 7 days of RTO permitted during the 13-week contract; no RTO during the first week of orientation,
• Former permanent employees of any BJC facility must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler,
• Travelers may remain in assignment for a maximum of 18 months, after which a 3-month break is required before returning,
• This is a large academic teaching facility
