Job Details
• Interventional Radiology unit within a large acute care academic teaching hospital with 1,259 staffed beds,
• All adult IR procedures performed, including body, vascular, and neuro,
• Average daily census of 8 patients per nurse,
• Procedures include CT-guided procedures, bone biopsies, central lines, and titrating drips,
• Philips monitors used for patient care,
• Epic EMR used for charting,
• Schedule is Monday-Friday, 4x10-hour shifts (7:30-18:00),
• On-call responsibilities include weeknights (Mon-Thu, 18:00-07:30) approximately 3-4 times per 13-week contract, and weekends (Fri 18:00-Mon 07:30) approximately 1-2 times per 13-week contract,
• Travelers may be designated as 'Backup' approximately once per week, requiring them to stay past the end of shift to complete ongoing procedures,
• Travelers are expected to work every 5th or 6th Saturday (08:00-16:00) as needed,
• Shifts may extend past 18:00 when procedures are in progress,
Job Requirements
• Active MO RN license or compact RN license with MO privileges required,
• BLS and ACLS certifications required,
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required,
• Critical care background required - ICU, ED, or procedural experience,
• Must pass a Relias EKG exam; EKG interpretation and dysrhythmia management skills required,
• Must be able to work independently,
• No visible tattoos; facial piercings must be removed or covered,
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible,
Additional Information
• IR experience is not required for this position,
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply,
• Epic charting experience is preferred,
• Navy scrubs required,
• No more than 7 days of RTO permitted per 13-week contract; no RTO during the first week of orientation,
• Former permanent employees of any BJC facility must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler,
• Travelers may remain at the same facility for up to 18 months, after which a 3-month break in service is required,
• Local candidates are not accepted; candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility
