Job Details
• Interventional Radiology unit at a large academic, Level I Trauma teaching hospital with 1,259 staffed beds,
• All adult IR procedures including body, vascular, and neuro interventions,
• Average daily census of 8 patients per nurse,
• Schedule is Monday-Friday, 4x10-hour shifts ),
• Weeknight call coverage (Mon-Thu, ) expected approximately 3-4 times per 13-week contract,
• Weekend call coverage (Fri 1800-Mon 0730) expected approximately 1-2 times per 13-week contract,
• Every 5th or 6th Saturday ) may be required as needed,
• Occasional 'Backup' designation requiring the nurse to stay past shift end to complete ongoing procedures (approximately once per week),
• Procedures may extend past 1800 if in progress at end of scheduled shift,
• Performs procedures including central line placement, CT-guided procedures, bone biopsies, and titration of drips,
• Utilizes Philips monitors,
• Charting via Epic EMR,
• Navy scrubs required,
Job Requirements
• Active MO RN license or Compact RN license required; must be valid and in hand at time of consideration,
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required,
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required,
• Critical care background required (ICU, ED, or procedural setting),
• Must pass a Relias EKG exam - interpretation and management of dysrhythmias is required,
• Must be able to work independently,
• No visible tattoos; facial piercings must be removed or covered,
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible,
Additional Information
• IR-specific experience is not required for this position,
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply,
• Prior permanent employees of any BJC facility must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler,
• Standard travelers may remain for up to 18 months, after which a 3-month break in service is required,
• RTO is limited to no more than 7 days per 13-week contract; no RTO during the first week of orientation,
• Orientation modules must be completed prior to or during the first day of the assignment,
• Monthly parking passes are available through the facility's Public Safety department at varying costs depending on location and shift
