Position: Ortho Spinal Surgery Clinical Nurse - (Part-Time) Nights

Overview

Work Schedule

Part‑time 2‑12 hour shifts, including nights, every 3rd weekend, and every 3rd holiday. Shift scheduling is modified and self‑scheduled in 6‑week cycles. Benefits begin on the 1st of the month following the start date.

Role Purpose

Provides direct patient care activities including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation within the standards of nursing care guidelines.

Responsibilities
  • Promotes patient and family‑centered care in a healing environment; educates patients and families on illness or injury management, post‑treatment home care, and medication administration.
  • Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance and in professional development.
  • Develops, implements, and documents individualized plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with interprofessional team members and family or caregivers, and proactively plans and ensures communication across the continuum of care.
  • Uses critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs according to standards of care; assesses patient preferences and barriers to involvement, including values, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and population‑specific needs.
  • Maintains a constant state of alertness and works safely in a safety‑sensitive environment.
Minimum Requirements
  • Education:

    Nursing Diploma or Associate’s Degree in Nursing.
  • Experience:

    None required.
  • Supervisor

    Experience:

    None required.
  • Licensure:
    Registered Nurse (RN) license.

  • Education:

    Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
