Medical Surgical Orthopedic Floor Registered Nurse (RN) Nights (St. Louis, MO). The organization is seeking an RN to provide direct patient care to adult patients on an orthopedic unit. Responsibilities include conducting patient assessments, planning and implementing nursing care, coordinating with ancillary departments, and evaluating the overall effectiveness of care. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.

• Current RN license in the state of Missouri (meets criteria to be eligible for licensure in Missouri).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA).
• 2 years of Orthopedic experience with inpatient-only experience.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) – preferred.
• Float rotation may be required.

• Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care; maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care.
• Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care caregivers; coordinates patient care in conjunction with other departments; maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information.
• Utilizes nursing preparation and established guidelines of nursing practice, the Missouri Nurse Practice Act, and professional conduct standards to care for patients across all age groups (including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation).
• Stands and walks most of the time on duty; may require bending, stooping, and lifting/turning patients with assistance; high risk exposure to blood and body fluids.
