Clinical Nurse Specialist

Job Description

Seeking a Certified Clinical Nurse Specialist with Critical Care experience at a major medical center. The CNS will serve as a critical care clinical expert in a large health care system to advance tele‑critical care services and system‑based critical care practice across BJC.

Barnes‑Jewish Hospital at Washington University Medical Center is the largest hospital in Missouri and is ranked as one of the nation's top hospitals by U.S. News & World Report. The hospital’s staff is composed of full‑time academic faculty and community physicians of Washington University School of Medicine, supported by a house staff of residents, interns, fellows and other medical professionals. The hospital was the first adult hospital in Missouri to be certified as a Magnet Hospital by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

Acts as the clinical expert, promoting evidence‑based practice while working with staff, patients, families, and physicians.

• Provide direct care and consultation in the management of patient care.
• Improve the quality of health care by providing educational services to patients, families, community and health care professionals.
• Educate, develop and support clinical practice.
• Conduct scientific investigation and research.

• Master’s Degree – Nursing (Accredited CNS Program)
• Experience < 2 years in critical care

• Doctorate – Nursing
• Experience 2–5 years in critical care

• Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) RN
