Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Assistant Nurse Manager to help lead our 42 bed Medical Intensive Care Unit. The ANM is a key leadership role responsible for supporting the Nurse Manager in daily operations, clinical oversight, staff development, and ensuring high standards of patient care. The ANM will serve as a mentor, resource and clinical leader, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
Responsibilities- Manages individual staff including hiring, training, assigning work, evaluating performance, and developing professional development plans.
- Participates in the development of departmental staffing, revenue, and expense budgets and helps ensure adherence to those goals.
- Provides and oversees patient care according to planned interventions, documenting per policy.
- Creates and ensures implementation of a collaborative plan of care based on assessment, diagnosis, and medical treatment.
- Reviews staff hours versus scheduled hours, reconciles time cards, approves payroll updates, and manages staff communications.
- Determines staffing needs, assigns overtime, and recommends effective annual increases.
- Conducts performance evaluations and recommends areas of improvement.
- Maintains a state of alertness consistent with a safety-sensitive position.
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN).
- Certification: Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Experience: 2–5 years of RN experience; supervisory experience is a plus.
- Leadership and ICU experience preferred.
- 5–10 years of nursing experience.
- Under 2 years of supervisory experience.
