Must have experience in the pre and post-anesthesia care of patients. Required skills include IV starts, nursing assessment, and good customer service.
Description:
The position involves preparing patients before surgery. Tasks include placing an IV, conducting assessments, and administering medication. The role also involves recovering patients in Phase I and Phase II and providing discharge education. Surgery specialties primarily include ENT and ophthalmology.
Shifts are scheduled for five days per week from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM. Patient ratio is 1:2 in Phase I and 1:3 in Phase II. First-timers accepted with 2 years of PACU experience and EPIC experience. No call, weekends, or holidays are required. Experience with both adult and adolescent patients is necessary. This position is focused on efficient throughput of patients undergoing same-day eye and ENT procedures.
All patients are 14 years and older. While PALS is required, most patients are adult-sized, and therefore adult PACU experience is essential.
