BJC Health Care is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) in Gastroenterology for a nursing position in Saint Louis, Missouri.

We are leaders in providing Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) care. Our surgeons refine surgical procedures and non‑operative techniques to reduce pain, complications, and improve outcomes. This is a 38‑bed surgical unit with an average nurse‑to‑patient ratio of1:4.

Shift: 3–12h nights

BSN, ADN or GN accepted

Provides direct patient care activities, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation within the guidelines of nursing care standards.

• Promotes patient and family‑centered care in a healing environment.
• Educates patients and families on managing their illness or injury, including post‑treatment home‑care needs and medication administration.
• Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
• Participates in professional development.
• Develops, implements, and documents individualized plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with interprofessional team members and the patient, family, or caregiver, following nursing care standards.
• Proactively plans and ensures communication of the care plan across the continuum of care.
• Uses critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs according to standards of care.
• Assesses patient preferences and barriers to involvement in care, including values, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and population‑specific needs.
• Maintains a constant state of alertness and acts in a safe manner, as this is a safety‑sensitive position.
