Under the direction of the RN or LPN, assists in the individualized care of the patient to achieve the patient's highest level of wellness. Works cooperatively with others as part of a team; recognizes the importance of group goals. Performs designated clinical procedures and nonclinical support tasks essential to providing care to the patient.

Position Overview

Under the direction of an RN or LPN, the Nurse Technician:

• Assists with individualized patient care
• Performs designated clinical and non-clinical support tasks

Training & Development

Our Patient Care Associate Training Program is an accredited U.S. Department of Labor Apprenticeship Program, offering hands-on experience in a supportive healthcare environment.

• 175-hour training program provided if no prior experience
• Training completed during new hire orientation
• ⏱ Must be completed within 90 days of hire (per state guidelines)
• BLS required within one month of hire
• PCA competencies completed within 3 months

Qualifications

• Education:
  
  High school diploma or GED, CNA/CPTC, enrollment in a healthcare high school program, or a current Mercy co-worker
• Experience:
  
  None required
• If enrolled in nursing school, please list this on your resume or application

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to push, pull, and/or lift up to 50 lbs
• Prolonged standing and walking
• Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat

Preferred Certification:
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
