Position Summary
Join a dedicated and dynamic team committed to advancing pediatric health. This position is in the Pediatric Clinical Research Unit (PCRU), an outpatient research unit located is Children’s Hospital. It is primarily a weekday and daytime position. The role focuses on coordination and implementation of research studies, providing direct patient care, data collection, and data management.
Responsibilities- Work under the Principal Investigator’s guidance to meet study objectives.
- Provide direct patient care in accordance with protocol, including assessments, phlebotomy, IV placement, infusion monitoring, port access, injections, ECGs, vital signs, and other nursing skills.
- Administer and oversee medication and investigational product administration.
- Obtain, handle, process, and ship research specimens per protocol.
- Collect health information, monitor for and report adverse events.
- Perform data collection, source documentation, and data entry.
- Coordinate study procedures, screen and enroll subjects, maintain continuity of care and research integrity.
- Collaborate with sponsor research associates during monitoring activities by providing documentation and clarifications.
- Perform other duties incidental to described work.
- Location:
St. Louis Children’s Hospital outpatient research unit. - Environment:
Normal office environment with exposure to blood‑borne pathogens. - Requires protective devices.
- Patient care setting; sitting at desk or table, standing, walking, bending, crouching, stooping; occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.
- Equipment:
Office and clinical/diagnostic equipment.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Current RN licensure in Missouri and/or Illinois.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification with hands‑on skills.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- One year of clinical research experience.
- Experience with data management, EHR, and statistical analysis software (SAS).
- Strong clinical research skills and communication.
Grade S25: $60,000 – $99,900 annually. Individual rates within the range will be determined by qualifications and performance.
