Job Overview
Join BJC Health Care’s Central Staffing Office (CSO) as a Regional Float ED Registered Nurse (RN) and deliver high‑quality, patient‑centered care across the system. You’ll support 11 BJC hospitals across Missouri and Illinois (excluding Children’s Hospital). The position involves working three 12‑hour night shifts with flexible start times: 5:45 PM, 6:00 PM, 6:30 PM, 6:45 PM, or 7:00 PM, plus a rotating weekend and holiday schedule.

- 2+ years of Emergency Department (ED) RN experience (required)
- Previous trauma and float experience preferred
- Current Missouri RN license and ability to obtain Illinois RN license
- Willingness to travel between BJC facilities in MO & IL
- Strong adaptability in variable clinical environments
- ADN, BSN, or MSN accepted
- Initial 1st week training commitment (5 full‑time days)
- Participate in activities that promote patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance; engage in professional development.
- Use standards of medical‑surgical nursing practice to improve quality of care and patient outcomes; apply the nursing process and evidence‑based practice.
- Advocate for patients and collaborate with interprofessional team; foster a healthy work environment and mentor colleagues.
- Apply evidence‑based practice in accordance with patient age‑specific and clinical needs.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and providers in culturally sensitive, ethical, legal, holistic, and compassionate ways.
- Maintain constant state of alertness and safe practice as a safety‑sensitive position.
- Education:
Nursing Diploma or Associate’s Degree. - Experience:
2–5 years of nursing, 0–5 years of supervisor experience. - Licenses &
Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS) and RN license.
- Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. - Experience:
5–10 years of nursing.
