Although smaller in size, this unit mirrors the patient complexity and clinical expectations of our MPCU/CPCU units, making it ideal for nurses seeking step‑down‑level experience in a more close‑knit setting.

• Higher acuity than traditional Med Tele units
• Equivalent in clinical complexity to MPCU/CPCU, but in a smaller, more intimate unit setting
• Strong exposure to cardiac and respiratory conditions requiring close monitoring
• Excellent steppingstone for nurses interested in step‑down or critical care pathways

• Congestive Heart Failure (CHF)
• Chest pain (pre‑procedural monitoring prior to surgery/intervention)
• Patients requiring high oxygen support
• Cardiac and respiratory conditions requiring continuous telemetry
• Overflow from SPCU (surgical cardiac patients)

• Primarily Emergency Department admissions
• Some direct admits (not requiring ICU level care)
• Occasional post‑operative admissions

• Short stay unit with rapid turnover
• Approximately 50% discharge to home or skilled facility
• Approximately 50% may transfer to higher or specialized levels of care if needed

• Provide high‑quality, patient‑centered care in a telemetry setting
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and clinical changes
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care plans
• Manage patients with moderate to high acuity needs
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans and discharge instructions

• Education:
  
  Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN).
• Licensure:
  Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.
• Certifications:
  
  Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire.
